We took the ferry to Istanbul because it was cheaper and faster (only 1,5 hours) than taking the bus. We made seat reservations for the ferry which has to be done through the internet. The ferries get full very quickly so you have to be on time. Luckily we had the last two seats! Guess who we meet while getting off: Unsal! He was also on his way to Istanbul for work. Small world. He helped us once again and explained…

We had bought tickets for 30 lira per person one day before departure to Bursa. At first you get a handwritten piece of paper with the travel details. We had to ask several people just to make sure if that’s a correct ticket. They all said it was, but when we took the shuttle bus to the bus station, we had to exchange the piece of paper for real tickets. Why the hell aren’t they clear about that in the…
From Selcuk to Izmir takes only 1.30 hours but we had delay. We got cheap traintickets of only 10 lira for both of us since we told a little lie of being younger than 25 years old. After we arrived we walked to a hotel we had looked up before departure. Because we had lots of expenses today (entrance Epheses and traintickets), we were over our budget for the day. We had to eat cheap, so went to the McDonalds for some…
It would take 3,5 hours to get to Selcuk from Denizli. We decided to take the train instead of the bus because it’s faster and cheaper. No idea why the bus transport is more developed since it’s not always the most handy transportation for long distances. The next day we wanted to visit the theatre of Ephesus. The receptionist at the hotel and some other travelers told us we didn’t need more time than just 4 or 5 hours, so we…
Bus tickets from Bodrum to Denizli (5 hours) cost 30 lira per person. From Denizli you have to take the local bus towards Pamukkale (10 minutes) which cost 3,50 lira per person. The place is a must-see apparantly because of its unique geological formations and historical remains, so I was very curious how we were going to experience it. We had always two essential things during long bus journeys; food/drinks and many serials/movies on Farhang’s laptop to keep us entertained. I…
The night ferry to Kos would depart at 00.50 am and we would arrive there around 5.45 am. Although it was a luxurious ferry with cosy little couches to sleep on, I didn’t get much sleep. When we got in Kos early in the morning, we had to wait till 9 am again to take the next ferry to Bodrum. We reached there one hour later and I was actually exhausted. My legs still hurt a lot, I hadn’t slept…
