Food for Thoughts

Choices, Choices, Choices!

Choices are not always easy, especially when it’s about life changing choices. So what would you guys do if it was you? Traveling without money problems for about a year and have a little wedding ceremony OR traveling for around 6 months next to a big exclusive wedding?
So first we were planning our wedding in Sorrento (Italy) and we even discussed everything with a wedding planner; it would’ve been an exclusive wedding! But unfortunately we had to cancel everything due family circumstances. It was a bummer, but since then we’ve decided to concentrate on our worldtrip and keep most of the savings we had separated for it. BUT we also want to have a little wedding, eventually it IS one of the most important days of our lives and we want to have a day to look back on! So since then we’ve started to look for a wedding location here in the Netherlands, Germany or Belgium. We certainly don’t want to get married in a typical extra large afghan wedding hall where thousands of other afghans get married (like Farhang calls it ‘same circus, other puppets’ haha) which is totally not awesome. We’ve been looking for a location (Italy included) for more than 2 years now and it is getting quite annoying now.  Seriously, how hard can it be to find a location for about 120 guests (yes this is a small wedding fyki, since afghan weddings normally have a minimum of 250 guests or more) and where external catering services are allowed.
Very soon we have another site visit in Germany. Let’s hope this is going to be a success! When the location is fixed, we can  manage other important things for the wedding so we can finally be able to concentrate on our worldtrip since that takes lots of preparation too! We’ll keep you all updated with the most recent activities considering the wedding & the trip afterwards.
