Food for Thoughts Happy life Tips & Tricks

5 Ultimate Travel Tips

1. Don’t be afraid to travel to somewhere unknown: you won’t be in the middle of nowhere. If other people live there, you can manage as well. Of course the standards differ, but it’s not the end of the world. If you really really really find yourself in the middle of nowhere (with non-english speaking locals in the middle of a jungle or a desert), it’s a safe thought knowing you will always be around one day away from civilization. We personally were always looking for less traveled destinations, but rarely succeeded in finding such places. Maybe we’ll have more luck in Australia since a big part of the country is uninhabited.

2. Don’t plan it all through, but go with the flow. The unexpected/unknown is always more adventurous. We made sure we were always flexible and could stay shorter/longer whenever & wherever we wanted. And that, my friends, is what they call The Ultimate Freedom.

3. Enjoy the moment itself instead of trying to capture everything for later. These days, where we find ourselves in an era with evolving technological gadgets at our fingertips, it’s very tempting to pull out our smartphone or camera to capture that one beautiful sunset or ocean view in front of us (I plead guilty). But the thing is, we don’t actually need those pictures. Those precious moments will already be engraved in our memories forever.

4. Be disconnected. Life without internet is less complicated. Believe me.

5. Don’t be willing to tick off that checklist of recommended places by lonely planet. It’s more about doing and learning new stuff & experiencing the local life which will be more special and dear to you later on to remember. Have nice chats with locals and indulge yourself in their culture and religion, do yoga and learn meditation, go hiking, learn how to cook local dishes or go nuts and do some skydiving. That’s what actually matters.

I agree with all these tips. It’s my first time venturing out into countries I’ve never been to before and not having a concrete agenda has allowed me to have more freedom and experiences. Also disconnecting to the internet is a bit of a blessing. Life is definitely much more simple off line. Love reading your blog and can’t to see more posts on life in Australia!
